What information do I need to provide when applying Vietnam visa approval letter?

When applying Vietnam visa on arrival, you will receive a letter called “visa approval letter”. This is a legitimate document, granted by Vietnam Immigration Department, functioning as a permit for you to get your visa stamp at Vietnam international airports when you enter the country. 

In the process of applying online to get the approval letter, you have to provide important information about yourself and your trip to Vietnam.

Personal information
•    Your full name (indicated as the same as in your passport)
•    Your gender
•    Your date of birth
•    Your nationality
•    Your passport number
•    Your email
 

Generally, you should submit 2 email addresses in case there may have problem in sending & receiving email.

Trip information

•    Your date of arrival 

In fact, you don’t need to provide the exact date you’re going to enter. You can estimate the earliest time you plan to travel and you completely can arrive after that date. For instance, you apply for one month single visa and your date of arrival is January 20th, so the approval letter will valid from January 20th to February 20th. Then you can enter Vietnam anytime in this period of time.

•    Type of visa

You can choose one month single or multiple entry visa, three month single or multiple entry visa, six month multiple visa. 

After having an approval letter, you need to bring it with you to the Immigration Counter at the international airports (Noi Bai, Tan Sơn Nhat, Da Nang) along with other documents for get visa stamp.

List of documents you need to hand in at the airport:

-  Your passport (must have at least 6 months validity)

- 2 passport-sized photos

- Visa approval letter

- A copy of Entry and Exit Form

- Cash for stamping fee (USD or VND is preferred)
(45 USD for 1month/3 month single entry visa; 65 USD for less than 1 month multiple entry visa; 95 USD for 3 month multiple entry visa)
