Vietnam Visa - Christmas 2014 is coming. Even though Christmas is not the tradition of Vietnamese people, the festive atmosphere of it still wraps in the whole country, especially big cities like Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh city. The oldest church in Hanoi is always the most favorite place to celebrate Christmas. As the central church of Hanoi and the neighborhood as well as central location nearby HoanKiem Lake, NhaTho Lon is really well-decorated at Christmas with huge Christmas tree, splendid lights and other traditional decorations for Christmas.
Coming to the church on Christmas, you will join with thousand of people which create a very festive and crowded atmosphere. Besides, you also have chance to enjoy delicious street foods at surrounded streets such as Au Trieu, Ly Quoc Su Street, NhaTho Street, Nha Chung Street, etc.
2. HoanKiem Lake
HoanKiem Lake in Christmas is always more extraordinarily and freshly beautiful than other days. It may because of sparkling lights decorated around the lake and in the tower on the lake. You can walk along the lake to feel the warm and peaceful atmosphere or visit the night fair with plenty of interesting goods, especially Noel’s stuffs. A lot of international tourists are impressed by the bustle night fair near HoanKiem Lake.
You also can “feel” Christmas by sitting in a quiet corner at Pho Co café, viewing the lake from a high building or enjoying egg coffee – the unique drink of Hanoi.
3. Ham Long Church
Ham Long Church is a Roman catholic church located in HoanKiem District. It is not as famous as NhaTho Lon, but it is considered as the most beautiful church in Hanoi. At Christmas, the church is much more beautiful with glowing candles, sparkling lights on the trees and the white gates,… The church is seemed to be glowing in Christmas night.
4. Hang Ma Street
Hang Ma is a special street in the Old Quarter. The street is full of store selling ornaments, decorations, toys, paper goods. On Christmas, Hang Ma is covered with a lot of vivid colors of Santa outfits, snow flakes, bells, Christmas trees and other decorations stuffs.
People come to Hang Ma to buy everything they need to decorate for Christmas; or they just simply walk along to see super colorful street and enjoy Christmas atmosphere.
5. Time City, Royal City – Shopping malls
These two shopping malls are located respectively at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street and Nguyen Trai Street. They are decorated very gorgeously with giant Christmas trees, outstanding light system, greatly huge Santa Clause and Reindeers, etc. Especially, Royal City offers the biggest Christmas tree in Vietnam with 32.5 m in height, 5 tons in weight and covered with 1000 led lights.
