Vietnam: one of the cheapest countries to go on a holiday

Skyscanner, a leading global travel search site, has listed top 10 cheapest countries to visit. And among the 10, Vietnam is ranked as the 2nd cheapest countries in the world, after Cambodia.

Vietnam, with stunning natural beauty and amazing street foods and outstanding festivals, is the best economical country for your vacation. The beauty of Vietnam varies from North to South, highlighted by attractive beaches and islands as well as charming landscapes and ancient cities. Vietnam also has thousand-years-old and distinguish history, culture and tradition as well as great cuisine.

Accommodation 

According to Holtel.com, Vietnam is ranked 2nd among the cheapest countries with hotel price. The average hotel price in Vietnam is $70 per night for all kinds of room, comparing to the most expensive Monte Carlo in Monaco with the average price of hotel is $332/night. 

You can find a standard room in a two stars hotel with $10 per night in central of Hanoi. And the quality is as great as you can expect.

Transportation

There are a lot of means of transportation to travel in Vietnam. And the prices are quite moderate.

Flight in Vietnam is extremely cheap if you book in advance. You can choose Vietnam Airline (the biggest airline in Vietnam) or Jetstar Airline. Both of them have prices between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City starting around US$60 one way. 

Train is the most popular mean to travel along the country. You can go all the way from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City in a first class soft sleeper cabin (the nicest ones on the normal trains) for around US$65, and it takes about a day and a half. 

You also can travel by coach. Traveling by coach is faster than traveling by train, but some people may be afraid of the safety. Normally, prices are between $5 and $10 to get between the main cities.

In local places or tourist sites, you can travel by local bus, taxi, motorbike taxi, electric car, cyclo or hiring motorbike, bycicle. The prices are varied but still cheap.

Eating and drinking

Cuisine is one of the biggest prides of Vietnamese tourism. The highlight of Vietnamese cuisine is amazing street food. And street food here is super cheap. Great food sold on street in cities is around $1 or even much less. You just need $5 and you can enjoy as much as dishes as you can.

If you look for decent restaurant or a spurge with good-quality foods and nice ambiance, the prices are still reasonable, ranging from $5 to $20 on a meal.

If you stay at a 3-star or above hotel you can probably expect to pay at least double if you dine in its own restaurant.

Beer and Vietnamese coffee are two popular beverages in Vietnam. In many cities you can get the local draft beer called bia hoi for as little as 15 cents a glass, even at nicer restaurants. Bottled beers normally range between 75 cents and $1.25 each. Coffee is a little more expensive, about $1 for a cup of black coffee or iced black coffee, approximate $2 for egg coffee. 

Attractions 

Prices for ticket to visit museums or attractions in Hanoi, Hue, Ho Chi Minh City vary from less than 1$ to $5. Generally, they are amazingly cheap.
